November Update 2014 By Carl Carlucci

Back to Previous
An unbelievably mild November saw the fish continue to feed with gusto and it wasn’t just the weather our members were enjoying as PBs were smashed throughout the month.

Dave Whitting was the first angler to get off the mark catching the impressive Four Scale at a new PB weight of 40lb.

Dave fished a single Nash Scopex boilie at range from the Lions Swim to tempt the big mirror. Congratulations Dave on a great piece of angling.

I’ve mentioned before what a great bunch of members we have at Fryerning and let’s be honest having a laugh along the way is all part of the fun.

Terry Brazier is one such member always in high spirits and ready to share a joke, this month though Terry was left smiling more than ever as he smashed his PB landing the incredible Nunn at a whopping 45.02lb.

Terry had spotted fish showing at long range from the point swim, and not being one to miss an opportunity, cast a stringer towards them, just 40 minutes later and Terry was away!

The net was soon slipped under the mightily impressive Nunn which looked stunning, its winter colours resplendent in the November sun.

Terry was obviously delighted and his comment in the anglers log said it all “Love this place!”

Well done Terry on a great bit of fishing!

Kevin Clarke was only a couple of hours into a quick day session when he registered a new PB with the cracking Netted Fish at 45.08lb.

The fish which is one of the largest true leather carp in the country came to a single DT Cold Water Mix boilie.

Kevin’s capture is proof that you can catch lumps even on limited time at Fryerning. Well done Kevin, great stuff!

Another quick result came to Neil Messenger who banked Charlie at 43.08lb just an hour after the start of his latest visit!

Neil who is production manager for DT baits and catches more than his fair share of fish used his own company’s Cold Water mix to tempt the fish.

Great angling Neil!

Not one to miss out on an opportunity I also jumped on to the DT Baits bandwagon and have been lucky enough to catch a few fish this month myself!

Most notable of these being the capture of The Boss at a top weight of 47lb coupled with a rarely caught mirror of 36lb both coming to DT Baits Cold Water Green Beast.

The Boss is a real chunk of a fish and has put on an incredible 5lb this year and could well be nudging the 50lb mark this time next year. I’m sure it won’t be too long before we have maybe 3 50s at Fryerning!

Another capture worthy of mention this month fell to Jason Sharpe. Jason caught 2 PBs in just 20 minutes! Fishing from the lodge in pouring rain and in just 3 foot of water Jason landed fish of 36lb and 37lb.

Well done Jason, a 40 next for you!

Finally I’d like to take this opportunity on behalf of everyone at Fryerning Fisheries to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year. May all your carp be crackers!
