The Easter holiday had finally arrived and I was now round to doing my first session on the main lake at Fryerning, in Essex. After a walk round the lake I found myself set up in a swim called Logs, round the back of the lake.

The Main Lake is the jewel in the XL crown at Fryerning. We'll be honest it's not for beginners as the challenges are hard ones. This water will test the resolve and skill of even the most experienced fisherman - but the rewards can be fantastic.
The Main Lake is 18 acres of scientifically managed water, with depths ranging from three to 20 feet, an island, and lush margin growth.
The swims are large enough for two anglers, with the occasional guest.
The documented stock of mid- and upper thirties is increasing all the time, with some fish growing in excess of five pounds in 2009 (2010 figures will be better as more bait has been applied). Quality is of the highest as we have our own breeding programme, recognised by CEFAS, utilising the latest aquaculture technologies (see Commercial Activities page for details).

FACILITIES
The anglers' lodge is situated next to the entrance to the fisheries. Here you will find free tea and coffee and be able to catch up with all the latest news. You will also find a fish finder and life jackets, which MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHEN USING THE BOAT ALONG WITH STAFF.
There is also a range of end tackle and bait available. We also supply different types of pellet and boilies etc AT COST PRICE to our members.
The entire site is protected by the latest infrared CCTV security system, ensuring you and your equipment are totally safe.
We have an arrangement with local Chinese and Indian restaurants that will deliver to the lake.
Should you wish to leave the site to eat, there are a number of excellent shop's, public houses close by. Ingatestone, just a five minute drive from the fishery, also has a selection of good restaurants.
