September Update 2014 By Carl Carlucci

Back to Previous
It’s been another incredible month at Fryerning fisheries with all 3 lakes fishing exceptionally well.

September has been the month of multiple catches and the first angler to get amongst them was Simon Scott.

Simon fished the left hand point swim and baited heavily with his own homemade boilies. Simon’s effort was soon rewarded when at the start of his session he landed a stunning 39lb mirror which was quickly followed by the strikingly scaled Woodcarving at 41.07lb.

The action didn’t stop there for Simon though as on the second day of his trip he went on to land a further 2 fish at 29 and 33lb. Great angling Simon!

Matthew Hughes was another member to enjoy a multiple catch. Fishing from the Lodge swim Matt had three fish, two of which were caught in just an hour! The catch was made up of fish of 33lb, 36lb and a cracking 41lb. Well done Matthew!

Hit of the month undoubtedly though goes to Harwich based member Phil Hemmingway. Phil who has limited time and doesn’t get to the lake as much as he’d like hit ‘em hard from the little fished Chocolate Finger swim.

Phil’s tactics are to bait little and often to build the fishes confidence. Applying a huge array of baits including three different size of boilies, along with groundbait , pellets, particles, tuna and salt phil’s swim was soon alive with showing fish.

Action came quickly as Phil landed his first fish the cracking XL Pecs at 38lb.

This was soon followed by one of the lake’s most prized residents the incredible Gurm at 51lb 8oz. If that wasn’t enough Phil landed a number of smaller fish finally topped off by another thirty at 31lb 8oz.

Phil was obviously buzzing following his superb session and felt he should have caught more but confessed to being too knackered to fish properly on his last night!

Congratulations Phil, great angling and a fine example of what can be achieved on this water with a bit of thought.

Also worthy of a mention are brothers Aaron and Mitchell West who have recently joined the Syndicate and have quickly got amongst the fish. Mitchell has already broken his PB catching Four Scale at 37lb.

The same night and from the neighbouring swim Aaron caught a 35lb mirror to add to a 40lb he’d caught a week earlier. Great start lads!

The members at Fryerning are a really friendly bunch and they don’t come much friendlier than Steve Dolby (aka Mr Teabag)! Steve is another angler with limited time but despite this has been catching consistently this month.

Steve started the month by catching the beautiful Stripe at 35lb from the Car Park swim.

Next visit down and Steve was at it again landing the much sought after Netted Fish at a huge 44lb 8oz from the Right Hand Point swim.

Blow back rigs and good bait application doing the business for Steve. Good angling Steve!

The Main Lake tends to steal the limelight, but it would be foolish to ignore the other lakes on the complex. The Valley Lake has produced an unbelievable number of fish this month, lots of twenties and 30’s up to 36lb being caught.

The little fished car park lake continually produces big bags of fish and the outstanding catch this month went to one lucky angler who bagged 25 fish up to 28lb including four twenties in a day. Fantastic fishing in anyone’s book!
