The Valley Lake Does a 40!!!

Back to Previous
Recently the form of all three lakes at Fryerning has been red hot, but all the talk this weekend was all about the Valley Lake.

History was made on Friday when long time member Mick Rook caught The Valley lakes first 40lb fish, a huge common which last year came out at 38lb.

The Valley Lakes stocks have been piling on the pounds ever since a feeding programme was introduced in 2016 and it was only a matter of time before this special milestone was reached.

Incredibly another common which is of a similar size could also breach this magical weight and be the lakes second 40 any time soon.

Mick who hadn’t fished the lake for the past six months was absolutely delighted with his prize, his New P.B. and first UK 4O.

Obviously in a feeding mood the fish was caught over a spread of 2.5kg of the ever reliable Mainline Cell boilies and christened a recently purchased rod and reel combo in style.

It’s certainly a session Mick or anybody else who was there to share the historic moment won’t forget in a hurry.
