Year after year there always seems to be a run of big fish from the Main Lake over the Christmas period and once again as our members enjoyed some incredible captures as we headed into a new year.

Paul Palmer set the ball rolling when he ended his year in style taking the impressive Berties Linear at a new top weight of 39lb 12oz.

A few days later it was the turn of Dave McCarthy who took a brace of fish in just 30 minutes. First up Dave landed the Stripe at 39lb 9oz and then as he slipped the fish back he was away again this time landing the Dalmatian at a new top weight of 39lb 10oz. This fish is a new complex record Koi.

The action didn’t stop there though as just hours into 2016 Neil Messenger got his account for the year off the mark landing one of the complexes oldest and most sought after fish, Charlie.

The big Mirror weighing in at 44lb 4oz again it’s highest ever weight.

The Main Lake though saved it’s best for last when Dan Humphries caught no less than 3 fish in a 72 hour session.

Just two hours after moving into the right hand point Dan landed the Queen of the lake, the Gurm at 52lb 12oz.

The following evening and Dan was in again taking another two fish a chunky Common  of 36lb… and a mirror of 36lb…., both of which are rare visitors to the bank.

What a session for Dan and a wonderful start to the year for the fishery.
